Judy Doyle
Watercolor Artist
Raised on a farm in beautiful north Idaho I assimilated the mountains, trees, and lakes. As a child, I drew and painted the beauty that I saw around me. When I was 10, an aunt who is an artist came to visit. I watched her paint a lovely picture of Lake Coeur d'Alene. I learned from watching her, the techniques of painting with oils.
I began painting with oils in the early seventies and took classes from Spokane Falls Community College. While raising my children, I continued with my oil painting and selling my works.
In the mid-eighties I became interested in watercolors and decided to go back to school and study the technique. Again I took classes at Spokane Falls Community College. Watercolors seemed to fit my personality and I have been using them ever since.
Throughout my life, raising my children, going to college and working for Spokane Public Schools, I have always had a painting in progress. In my busier days, when the children were young, sometimes it would take me six months to finish a painting, but it would always get finished. My art has always been a part of my life. I am always looking forward to finishing one painting and starting a new one.
