Silk Painter

I have enjoyed life in the Northwest for over 30 years. During that time I have explored numerous artistic techniques. "My current medium of choice is silk
painting. I love the art of painting on silk fabric. The yarn of a silk
caterpillar provides the canvas. I apply French dyes onto high quality silk using linear resist to create my paintings. A silk painting seems to change it's appearance depending on the amount of light. I derive inspiration for my art from the beauty of the Pend Oreille River country."

Carol lives in Tiger, WA with her husband Fred and Merlin the cat.

Jeanne WilliamsJeanne (Williams) Spindler

Artist

I have been a resident of Spokane WA for over 20 years and have worked in various art mediums. I have studied with Stan Miller, Emma Randolph, Tom Quinn and ShirlyBird.

My passion for the art mediums started in California studying with local leading artists at Fresno State University.

A move to Spokane led me to the Corbin Art Center and The Corbin Community Center with teacher Glenice Nichols.

I have had private showings at the William Grant Gallery and various local restuarants.

I became a member of the River Ridge Assn of Fine Arts and have appreciated their assistance in showing and furthering my education. In 2008, a landscape painting won first place at the Fresno County Fair.

I find working in my community and donating for fundraising very rewarding. Another avenue in my life is a membership with the Washington State Quilters. All works of quilting are donated to charitable groups.

Spokane has become a wonderful city for a home and community participation in the art field. I am pleased to share my love for the arts in Spokane.
