Watercolors
"Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes.
Art is knowing which ones to keep." Scott Adams
It wasn't until I retired that I had the time to pursue my interest in watercolor. My inspiration was an aunt who had taken up watercolors in her late 70s. I jumped in with both feet even though I had never picked up an art brush and had no idea what supplies were needed. Through the tutorship of Shirley Bird Wright, I began to take baby steps.
It's been a very exciting journey that I hope will continue for the rest of my life. Art has opened my eyes to the amazing detail in every object. I get excited to explore the details of God's creations. The textures, the colors, the design, oh my!
Proceeds from my paintings go to the Union Gospel Mission women's shelters and/or Christ Kitchen.
